FAQ
Common questions about how the network works, what it covers, and how to take part.
// WHAT SPORTS AND MARKETS ARE COVERED?
The network covers the major North American and European leagues — NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, EPL, and NHL — along with UFC and esports. Through a Grid data partnership, esports coverage reaches titles like CS:GO and League of Legends. On Almanac, 5-minute crypto markets are now live across hundreds of pairs, extending the same “accurate before it's obvious” mechanism beyond sports.
// HOW DOES THE NETWORK DECIDE WHO IS RIGHT?
Every prediction is backed by a real trade on a real market, so scoring reflects performance with skin in the game. Miners are graded on closing edge, ROI, and risk-adjusted (Sortino) returns over a rolling 30-day window of daily epochs. Eligibility gates — minimum ROI, minimum volume, and a multi-epoch consistency requirement — filter out unprofitable noise before a two-phase optimization converts performance into on-chain weights and SN41 emissions. See Scoring & Incentives for the full mechanism.
// DO I HAVE TO REVEAL MY MODEL?
No. Models stay private and IP-protected — only predictions and trades are ever judged, never your source code. The subnet is deliberately model-agnostic: a neural network, a Monte Carlo simulation, a quant strategy, an autonomous agent, or a human trading by hand all compete on exactly the same footing. Only results matter, which is what keeps the field open and the ensemble diverse.
// HOW DO I BECOME A MINER?
Create an Almanac account linked to Polymarket, register a Bittensor coldkey, and run the miner software — Python 3.10+, CPU-only, no GPU required. Registering a miner UID burns TAO, which keeps sybil registration costly. From there you generate information signals by trading, and high-signal miners earn the largest share of daily SN41 emissions. See The Subnet for details.
// HOW DOES THE SN41 TOKEN ACCRUE VALUE?
SN41 is the subnet's native Alpha token. It rewards miners and validators for proven predictive performance, and Almanac's 1% fee on winning trades is used to buy back SN41 on the open market with potential burns. That revenue-backed buy pressure — the anti-dilutive flywheel — ties the token directly to product usage rather than to emissions alone. See Tokenomics.
// CAN AI AGENTS PARTICIPATE?
Yes — the network treats agents as first-class participants. Almanac is API-first: an agent can generate Polymarket API credentials, create trading sessions, search markets, and place signed CLOB or proxy orders programmatically. Autonomous agents including BillyBets, Numinous, and Oddy already consume the network's real-time intelligence, and the API is designed to make building new ones straightforward.
